November 2014 | San Diego Weekend

Posted on 12/06/2014

I was thrilled to leave the snow behind to go to San Diego for a VERY quick trip- I left Saturday morning & came back Sunday night. Seriously, I can deal with snow, but I am pretty over ice.

I went to visit some of my college friends & go with Kyle to a military ball!
But first we had to go to the buffet next to Caroline's house. Priorities.

The ball was in a cute hotel next to the water in downtown San Diego. I was ready in five minutes but there is WAY more to a military uniform then a dress.
The ball was a lot of standing, and clapping, and slideshows.

After we met with with Caroline & Bryce and went out for drinks:

^ I'm giving a major side eye to someone lol

The next morning I walked around downtown San Diego, which even though I have been soooo many times, I had never done before.

After dinner at the resturant Caroline works at, my flight left at 8pm. It was a exhausting but super worth it weekend!

Night hike - November 2014

Posted on 11/13/2014

Daylight Savings time is useless, because it still gets dark at 5pm. Seriously, the sun goes down at 5pm. It's the WORST. None the less, Joe and I decided to go hiking.
The day was SO beautiful:

Joe & Khan:

We knew we were going to end up hiking in the dark, so of course the essential safety equipment was a whistle.
And we finally made it to the waterfall - right before the sun went down.

Night hiking, it's the next big thing.

Veterans Day - November 2014

I'm all about getting out of town whenever possible. This year I had Tuesday off (after working Monday), and so Joe and I decided to go camping- one last trip before it would get really cold and miserable. Okay, there MAY be plans for one more. But certainly the last mid-week camping trip of the year!

After some back and forth about where to go, we made it to the beach just in time for sunset:

We camped on the beach and woke up to this:

 ^ perfection!

Waking up and being the ONLY one on the beach (Joe and Khan slept in) was awesome.

We spent the rest of the day driving up the beach, eating pizza and walking on the beach.

It was such a great camping trip/ beach day! Especially since the forecast for tonight is snow and ice. I guess it's officially winter!

life lately

Posted on 10/24/2014

I booked my tickets & am headed off to South America this summer (more details, soon). Life has been busy lately, and I need to find time to update a lot- I never even finished Europe, let alone all of August, September and October...

As a side note: in this blog, what I say here, what I show here and on social media, it's not real. It's not my real life. It's just the best parts of my life. I don't post the worst parts, but they're there. I struggle daily with anxiety, and depression and sometimes they overwhelm me. That has been my life lately.

The Pinnacles are 8 miles(ish) off the loop around Crater Lake...they're weird and amazing.

july 2014 | crater lake, oregon part 1 / 3

By the time the weather finally cleared up I decided it had been worth the wait. Finally, I even got a campsite inside the park itself also, which was nice. There are campsites outside the park, but they're a pain to get to. The campsites in the park are half reserve before, half walk-up-only (around 60 of each I think), but the walk up ones seemed impossible to get. I didn't get one till my 3rd day trying. :/ annoying.
But. Worth it. Because, nature... are you kidding me?
it's perfection.

The first day we drove around the crater and stopped at sooo many stops along the way.
