January 2015: Ski Day w/Julia Goolia

Friday night was an impromptu girls night (I had people over for dinner then Julie, Elaine and Phoebe and I went out) and Saturday Julie and I woke up and went skiing.

 

It was the kind of day where you're not sure it's going to be good... but you go anyway... and it was perfect. My favorite kind of day. 

February 2014 | ski day

Saturday of snow weekend, Elaine, her roommate and I went up to Timberline to ski. It was an insanely stormy and snowy day- but it was SO good to get out of the house. The driving was actually really actually fine- it was the skiing that was terrifying.

We couldn't stay skiing that long, since it was FREEZING cold and everything was getting soaking wet - but sitting in the lodge eating nachos and drinking hot chocolate was pretty nice too. :)

January 2014 | Last weekend | ski day

 ^ Saturday I spent the day with some friends on the west side of Portland.... way West :) This was my fortune cookie.... a beach trip in my future?? I don't have any planned, but I feel that can always be arranged!!

Sunday morning I went skiing with my parents. Despite the fact that I had to get up at 7 am, it was a beautiful day, a perfect ski day!

We skied till about 11, took a break, skied a little more and went home early.

December 19th 2012

Sweet things my students have done for me lately-
Cheesy turtle bread! It's a blessing & a curse that I am across the hall from the Food's teacher :) :) Some of my kids from homeroom made me this chair, which I loved and was planning on keeping forever.
then.... one of my students broke it. Huge frowny face.  But gave me this note, which cheered me up.
I love my job :) :)


Last Sunday, my Dad & I went skiing. Huge regret already--- not buying a seasons pass :/ oh well. It was a great day.
Naturally, it ended with a storm warning ....






I have been tutoring a student after school, and this week we worked on a science lab. Poor little fish. I felt so bad. First we measured how many times it breathed a minute in normal water, then hot and cold water. Poor, poor fish :( I felt really bad about it. They also dissect cow's eyes but I will NOT be helping with that (please, please I really hope not).

Last night by BFF came in from Florida, she is here for 10 days & I am SO EXCITED! I went to pick her up last night & she was going to be a guest speaker for my classes today.
But we had a snow day.

So now it is officially winter break!!! It's kind of unreal that the year is pretty much half over (when we get back we have 15 days, then it's semester).  It has gone by so fast! I am planning on skiing a bunch and having a great winter break. Only 2 weeks off & I will be relaxing the whole time! I didn't even bring ANY work home with me! :)
