winterhawks game | birthday celebration

Posted on 11/13/2013

A few weeks ago I had the best idea ever, which was to ask some of my favorite married friends if they wanted to go to a Winterhawks game! My plan was flawless, since the husband of this duo played hockey and his birthday was coming up!

We had great seats... and it was a really great game. They almost won.... but then lost.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GREG! You're 30 now. Old. :)

November...so far

Posted on 11/12/2013

November has been amazing so far. The weather has been awesome and I have been hiking (not a lot but a little, and hoping to hike some more this week before the "season" is pretty offically over).
^ I actually did this hike on Halloween

Since quilting is my indoor winter hobby, I have been picking that back up- starting with this impressive broken needle (how does that even happen?!). This year my goal is to finish all my quilts that are in progress and use all my fabric. Will. Not. Go. To. The. Fabric. Store. It's SOOOO hard. I haven't totally made it, but much better then last year :) baby steps!

^ yoga whenever I can. My friend took this picture, moments before we were told we needed to take the class more seriously! In our defense, we always do, but this teacher wasn't so great... so it was hard to pay attention.

Lots of time shopping with friends. And I'm not gonna lie, I am pretty stoked about the Christmas cups at Starbucks. I LOVE peppermint mochas. Love.

^I always try and get other people to quilt, no one has taken it up yet, but I keep trying. It's so fun though. The only other quilter I know is my Aunt Mindi. :/

First finished quilt of the season!!!

 ^ I made this bag!!!!

Lots of reading....

^ I GOT NEW (to me) TABLES AT WORK. Ahh so exciting! I really, really like them.

A movie is being filmed in the town I work in, it's based on a book called Wild- about hiking the PCT. It has Reese Witherspoon...which everyone said like it made everything annoying about having to drive thru a movie set less annoying (it did not work on me). I serioulsy have a lot of hate now for both the book (which I tried to read once, and couldn't because I thought it was stupid but now really, really think is stupid) and Reese Witherspoon. Because I had to spend 20/mins a day for two days waiting on this stupid bridge while they filmed. Wanna know what a movie I will never see is?? Yeah I was frustrated.

^ dinner dates with some of my graduate school friends, who I never see enough of

I love technology, because it means my brother (in Germany, but this picture he was actually in Ireland) and I can share pictures back and forth... he said this was the best American burger ever, and I love the little American flag.

^ more quilting....   :)
^ ugh the sun goes down now at FOUR FOURTY FIVE. the worst.
^ finishing a book you love is also the worst.

Annnddd the last quilt I am working on

Happy November!

Hike | October 26th | Wind Mountain

Posted on 11/01/2013

Wednesday I was at a meeting in Carson and decided to head one more town east to Home Valley and hike Wind Mountain. It was only a 4 mile hike (2 miles up, 2 down) but..... with 1,200 feet elevation gain. Which means that two days later I am still hurting.... but it was worth it. :)
^ A LOT of the hike involved scrambling, climbing or crawling under things.

 ^  creepy smiley face tree

 ^ lots of landslides, too

 ^ my favorite!!!

At the top the view was AMAZING. There are all these old Native American artifacts which were really cool & I tried hard not to walk on them... I wish I knew more about how they were used because I bet it's awesome.

vegas | Chyler | After the wedding

Posted on 10/30/2013

After the wedding we hung out a bit while TONS of pictures were taken. Here are a few from my Dad, but the official photographer took a bunch that I think will be amazing & I can't wait to see those! :)

 ^ me + my parents
^ my Dad + Tyler-my new cousin in law!

There were TONS of cheesy back drops, sets, etc. & I could not resist taking pictures at a few of them-

Once the pictures were all done, we went back to Zina's friend Cindy's time share where we had an awesome room for cake and some food. Cindy and her daughter Katie did an AMAZING job! It was beautiful & delicious!  I ate sooo much!

Next, the bridal party went to take some more pictures on the strip (I have no picture of that) and finally ended up in the same group as the first night! It was just as fun as night one.

^ The man with the lei's had just come back from a Jimmy Buffet concert!  None the dancing ladies on his pink shorts, amazing!
& that pretty much wraps up the weekend. The next morning I crawled out of bed, cried because I didn't want to leave Kyle and then cried again on the plane ride home because I HATE flying (in case you didn't know... I have a seriously bad case of flight anxiety that doesn't stop me from flying but does make me think I am going to die every time I get on a plane).

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEWLYWEDS!
Thank you for having me be a part of your special day- xoxo
