Sime friends from the Marshall Islands program came to Portland, so we went to dinner...
Then sat on the rooftop of an amazing building in Portland & reminisced about the RMI. Real quotes:
"Remember the first time you heard a pig being slaughtered?"
"And then our island ran out of food...."
".... he got chained to a coconut tree for being drunk..."
"My kids thought it was hilarious to throw a rat against the wall, and then they threw it at me..."
Etc etc etc. I'm pretty sure everyone on the rooftop deck thought we were insane.
I haven't laughed so hard in so long. The night was beautiful, a perfect summer Portland night.
