Prague Castle

Lah de dah, just walking up this cute little street, all casual then I see this:
Prague Castle Cathedral, St. Vitus
Okay, seriously? Do I need to say more? No, no, I do not. But I will. Because here is the inside:
Inside of the cathedral
and the side of the cathedral
the back of the cathedral
Okay if you are finished drooling let's talk history. And this history goes back. Way back... like 870 back. Not 1870, I said 870. That is when the first convent was founded and it's basically blossomed into the largest castle in the world (according to the Guinness Book of World Records)... it covers 18 acres. This castle is not messing around: it took us two days to go thru it all. But it was well worth it. Because there is so much history you can see things like:
Vadislav Hall
Vadislav Hall, which was built in 1493. Look at that ceiling. I mean really! It makes American history look positively quaint when you realize that Prague Castle has been acting as a political hub since the 1300's and there are laws and records going that far back as well. Oh, America, you're such a little baby.
But back to the main question: Why do you have to be so impressive all the time, Prague Castle? It was never ending, because if you happened to live in Prague Castle (and it was inhabited till World War 1), this would be your view:
No big deal, right? It's only completely gorgeous.
And this is the village your workers would live in... actually the houses were super in demand so the workers rented them out to other people, but still. These were inhabited till the end of World War 2, when they were "procured" for "state purposes" (I think the translation is "stolen"...) and now they are museums, which means you can see all the knights shields:
and then head off to the original chapel, just in case you weren't impressed enough:

and then admire some of the statues around the castle:

Basically, of all the castles I went too, it's clear that Prague Castle is the cool castle that all the other castles look up too, but none can even hope to reach the status of. I was impressed for two days straight. And I want to move in, ASAP.
